Ask away, I have it in my hands.

Since I refuse to purchase the book for a number of reasons (not as many new monsters as there should be, the stupid classed monsters they have, and the new format they have takes up wayyy too much space, it lost the title "Monster Manual"), I did borrow it from someone I know because I am photocopying the 70-something new monsters I do want for my games without blowing $30 on such a horribly written book.

So, I have perused it, but haven't read it through entirely yet. The NEW monsters are pretty awesome, but the classed monsters should've never been in there at all. But I am at no loss since I didn't spend money on it so hah!

Ask whatever questions you want about it cause I get to hold on to it for quite awhile. That is, until I am done grabbing what I need from it.

What I want to know is, why would you complain on the one hand that the book is crap, and then admit on the other hand that it has 70-something pages of value to you? I think that photocopying such a substantial portion of the book is unethical, not to mention cheap.

<loaded question>

How bad are the Spawn of Tiamat?

</loaded question>

BTW, I'm pretty sure that photocopying 70-something monsters out of the book is pretty much the same thing as downloading the PDF off of a p2p network. Just saying.

That's pretty much what's on my mind, since the subtitle be something akin to "Book of the Spawn".

You're photocopying, oh, around 100 pages of a product (1-2 pages per monster)? Man, I *wish* there were 100 useable pages in some of the manuals that I've bought over the years. Deities and Demigods, anyone? :)

I've got questions I'd love answered about MM4, but I think I'll wait for a more objective view. You trash the book, then jump on the boards to gloat about how you're illegally copying a third of it to save yourself a few bucks. That kind of annoys me. Our hobby exists (at least in part) because there are good folk out there writing stuff for us; as you admit, a bunch of awesome new monsters in MM4. Many of them read these boards. I'd be steamed if I saw some guy posting about how bad my work is, then admitting that he's stealing it anyway.

How about a brief description of the new demons and yugoloths. :D

The Deathdrinker isn't even a tanar'ri, it's CR 18, 27 HD, and one of its abilities allows it to heal 1d8 damage per HD of the killed creature. The picture's kind bleh, it looks like it's posing for Vogue magazine or something LOL

The Kastighur is a tanar'ri, it's CR 11 and says they act as hunters and prison wardens among the tanar'ri. THey have frightful presence, gains a bonus against shaken, panicked or frightened creatures and has a stunning charge attack.

The Nashrou are not tanar'ri, either, it's weird looking for an abyssal creature too. CR 2, It's vulnerable to critical hits, a special weakness it possesses.

The Whisper Demon is CR 9 and incorporeal, but it's not a loumara. It looks like ti should've been, though. It has a maddening whispers aura special quality, creates spawn (allips) and uses Charisma modifier for WIll saves.

The yugoloths count only 2, not 3. The Corruptor of Fate is a CR 5 yugoloth that specializes in stealth and assassination. It has two block stats, one normal and one with 5 levels of Assassin. The voor is a yugoloth bred to be guardians of yugoloth strongholds and fortresses, it's CR 4 and the Dreadful Lasher is simply an upgraded Voor, that one is CR 9 but it does have unique abilities like higher SR and DR.

And who's stealing?

It's called SHARING. :p

Well I may buy the book after about 6 months. I just don't want to be a part of its sales. That way, they won't produce a Monster Manual like this again and go back to the traditional method of Monster Manual...being a book of new monsters, not classed monsters. And maybe a SHORTER format. One monsters took up FOUR pages, plus a page for a lair.

It's smart, actually. A lot of people hate how part of or half of a book is for them, yet the majority is not. Yet they have to pay full price for it, still. So they do things like share with their friends or photocopy what they need. I don't believe sharing is illegal in the US...yet. :\
