Considering the flavor of the mimic, I'm surprised its not a solo or elite creature. I've never heard mention of mimics working with other monsters.

I like it a lot. This will work really well in the paragon tier of my current FR game which involves, inter alia, worshippers of Ghaunadaur and aberrations in general. This mimic will fit right in.

It reminds me of the fluff that Sean K Reynolds invented for his Darkness Without Form: Secrets of the Mimic - Sean K Reynolds Games | EN World PDF Store product.

I have one small quibble. I realise that alignments don't really mean anything in 4E, but the mimic, as described and with an intelligence of 26, is clearly evil rather than unaligned. To paraphrase Forrest Gump, "Evil is as evil does."

From the fluff text, it seems to have various "mimic spawn" in the area with it that it can eat for an action point. It also looks to work with other mimics maybe.

So instead of walking into a room where the single chest is a mimic, you walk in and the chest, the suit of armor, the rug, and the DOOR are mimics, and all the small items on the floor are mimic spawn.

Lolth is getting her own stat block? :D

(I admit, I am a sucker for stats concerning gods and ultra-powerful fiends, even as I realise I will likely never get to use them).

Really? Impersonating people? Come on, we already have doppelgangers. I though the whole mimic schtick was that they disguised themselves as furniture, doors, sections of wall, pedestals, statues, etc.

(note: in my mind I am complaining to the mimic, not to the designer...)
