A small semitransparent heap slowly moves towards you. Its body is a clear purple, shifting in blues, pinks, and reds.

The blob is an ooze from outer space that came to the world riding inside a meteor.

Combat:
The blob is a mindless lifeform, attacking whatever living creature is nearest to it, but having a clear preference for creatures with the fire subtype. It never attacks creatures with the cold subtype however, and neither does it attack constructs, elementals, or undead creatures.
Acid (Ex): The blobs acid does not harm metal and stone.
Attach (Ex): If the blob hits a creature at least one size category larger than itself with a slam attack, it attaches itself to the opponent and starts to drain blood. Additionally it deals automatic slam and acid damage each round it is attached. The only way to make the blob loose it’s grip is to hit it with a cold based attack or an item or weapon that is very cold, such as ice.
Blood Drain (Ex): Each round the blood is attached to an opponent it deals one point of temporary con damage as it drains to blood from the victim.
Engulf (Ex): Although it moves slowly, the blob can simply mow down creatures at least one size category smaller than itself as a standard action. It cannot make a slam attack in a round in which it engulfs. The blob merely has to move over the opponents, affecting as many as it can cover. Opponents can make opportunity attacks against the blob, but if they do so they are not entitled to a saving throw. Those who do not attempt attacks of opportunity must succeed a DC 10 reflex saving throw or be engulfed, on a success; they are pushed back or aside (opponent’s choice) as the blob moves forward. Engulfed creatures are subject to the blobs acid, and are considered grappled and trapped inside its body. The save DC is Strength-based and includes a +1 racial bonus.
Feed (Ex): Whenever the blob kills a creature, it liquefies and absorbs the body as a full round action, destroying the remains. This prevents raise dead and resurrection of the slain creature, although a true resurrection, wish or miracle spell will restore the victim to life. During the round in which the blob feeds it may not move or make any attacks. Additionally it looses its Dex modifier to its AC. For each five HD of creatures the blob absorbs in this way, it gains one temporary hit dice as the creature increases in size and mass. These temporary hit dice are lost at a rate of one per day, and may cause the creature to shrink. This is the only way the blob can advance, but as it advances it may gain additional slam attacks (up to a maximum of four slam attacks per round).
Improved Grab (Ex): If the blob hits a creature at least one size category smaller than itself with a slam attack it may attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. Each round it maintains the blob maintains the grapple; it deals automatic slam and acid damage to the grappled creature.
Breathless (Ex): The blob does not need to breathe, and is thus immune to drowning, suffocation, and gas effects.
Cold Susceptibility (Ex): The blob is never allowed a save against a cold spell or effect, additionally any cold spells and effects that targets the blob causes it to be slowed for a number of rounds equal to the number of dice the spell or effect would deal. If the cold spell or effect does not deal damage, the blob is slowed for one round. Additionally, if the blob enters an area where the temperature is below freezing, it will act as if slowed for as long as it remains in the area. Because of this the creature instinctively moves away from areas of great cold.
Regeneration (Ex): Cold and sonic effects deal normal damage to the blob.
Weapon Immunity (Ex): Due to it’s highly gelatinous and partly liquid body, the blob takes no damage from any physical weapons, although any energy traits the weapons have might deal damage to the blob, neither the weapons themselves or any bonuses they might have actually damage the creature.
Skills: The blob has a +8 racial bonus on the Hide and Move Silently skills.

That picture is from the recolored version of the original black and white movie, So I wouldn't put to much trust into the color of that pic.

I'm glad you peoples like it.

The Blob, in the remake, was originally clearish. It developed the red coloration as a stain from eating people.
That is quite possible, but since I have only seen the original, and bits and pieces of the remake, I wouldn't know. And in the original it was more of an opaque color.
