TEXAS
May select one of the following feats for free:
* Skill Focus (Knowledge--football)
* Exotic Weapon Proficiency (chainsaw)

I would add:
* Personal Firearms Proficiency (the CHL is quite in vouge in many places)

State Identity: Many Texans are proud to be from Texas, and regard their state identity as strongly (if not more so) than their national identity. Any bonuses gained from inspiration or morale are doubled for a Texan if the method used calls upon some aspect of Texan identity (e.g., "Remember the Alamo!" or "Gig `em, Aggies!"). This effect is tripled (instead of doubled) if the method used also has a Texas flag, shape of the state, or some combination thereof visible to all Texans within range.

Dont forget in Texas a Yankee is anyone from north or east of the Red River. So i would give them bonuses when defending against the northern invasion.

I'll agree with the Berserker Rage; but in NJ we label our streets; New Yorkers just don't give a hoot and drive however the hell they want. And better than us? Don't make me laugh. What you call a chemical attack, we call Tuesday. We'll outlast every one o yiz.

hey, NYC is the cultural epicenter of the world.

A REAL Newyorker has a bonus to either diplomacy or charisma.
a REAL newyorker is a great driver. We have to avoid all the hazards of NYC without crashing thus our Drive Skills are incredible!

those other people you've had experiences with arent from nyc....they are tourists or just someone who lived here for a short while.

Minnesotans

Cold, Fire Resistance 5 - We survive all sorts of weather.

Fire resistance? Having moved to Minnesota from Missouri, these folks have no idea what real weather is like. Minnesotans get ready to faint if it gets above 90.

I'm working on Missouri, and thinking of dividing it into two sets of bonuses: people from Missouri, and people from Missoura.

Michigan [Detroit]
{whole different breed then the Michigan [out-stater] and the Michigan [Yuper]}
+2 on constitution (one day it will be 95F with 100% humidity, the next 45F and a cold rain)

Bonuses
+4 on intimidate rolls (you're from where? Detroit - ok pal just don't hurt me)
+2 on driving checks and knowledge (history-cars). Cars, they are built here and the road-ways are in such a state as you need to continue to buy new ones every two years if you can not avoid the potholes, construction barrles and other drivers.
Cold resistance/2
+2 vs intimidation rolls (That is not a gun, I'll show you a gun)
+6 vs sports intimidation checks (the lions and tigers together have lost more games this year then the Yankees did in the 90's)

For the rest of the state (for the record, I grew up in East Lansing, but had family in Negaunee and Ishpeming):

Michigan [Yuper]

+2 Str: summers spent chopping wood for winter, winters spent carrying wood
+2 Con: it gets really cold in winter, and can get surpiseingly (sp?) hot in the summer
-2 Dex: Yupers tend to be on the burly side
-2 Cha: nobody else seems to understand what they're saying

+2 Innuendo with other Yupers (see above)
+2 Survival (or whatever it's called in Modern, I only have 3 & 3.5): excellent hunters
+2 Fort saves: running back and forth from frozen pond to sauna makes them hardy

Immune to the bite of a Stirge (the mosquito is the state bird of the U.P., and the horseflies are actually the size of their namesake).

Michigan, lower penninsula:

no ability modifiers, we're pretty average specimens

+2 swim: you can't go 5 miles without hitting some body of water
+2 Driving: the rest of the state's roads aren't any better than Detroit's.
+2 craft (automobile): we like to repair our cars ourselves
