Modern Dispatch

However, having looked over the first issue again- 3 of the values are wrong on the armor penetration table- the following should have penetraions of 1:

HK MP5
HK MP5K
Uzi

Sorry about that and thanks for pointing it out! Its been corrected and if you download the first issue again it should be correct now.

What's wrong with Pr Classes?

Lots of things. D20 Modern is a very flexible game with flexible talents and even more flexible feats. A lot of advanced classes could very easily be class combos or feat collections.

Advanced classes (and PrCs) are also package deals, which can often cause problems. For instance, the Techie can make mastercraft items and robots. Now suppose I want to play a really competent gunsmith who can make a mastercraft (+2) damage 11 mm revolver. Why do I have the ability to make robots too? It's not part of my character concept.

Well I respect that opinion- and as we have stated multiple times, 3 out of every 4 issues will be adventure related material. And the first crunch issue, this one, doesnt have a class in sight, but a very flexible rules addition that is asked for all the time.

However, most people like advanced and prestige classes based on feedback of our other product lines, so when we have good classes that will fit in the majority of campaigns, we will include them, since your opinion is, in my experience talking to Modern fans, an opinion that is held by a very small minority of gamers.

Just a little warning to folks, I found my hotmail account filtered the email from RPGObjects as Junk mail. So if you haven't got the e-mail check you junk mail folder.

I think is happen to a number of people sadly. Some junk filters will flag all email that has been send in a bulk mailing (even if it's not real spam).

To address that problem, starting with issue #2, the latest dispatch pdf will also be available at RPGObjects.com on your “My Account” page. So if you do not have an account at RPGObjects.com, please create one. This will also allow you to download the monthly compilations.

After downloading it I'ld have to say I'm happy with my first issue, 3 more like that and its already worth the $6 price for the 3 month subscription, but considering its weekly, I'll think its a bargin.

One question however is why does the same 9mm round fired from a pistol have less penetration than one fired from a longarm? Is that a misprint, a balance issue or actually have some real world physics behind it?

Thanks for reporting the typo and please do so in the future so we can correct them when we do the monthly compilations.

Oh well in that case the OGL declaration could be incorrect as well.

Why the mention of Blood and Guts: Soliders?

I'm off on holiday for 2 weeks, how long do the download links stay active? Will I be able to grab the issues when I come back?

And a piece of advice: the teaser should not be a new advanced or prestige class. It should be something useful, like

Like... and advanced or prestige class.

Sorry, but I find them useful and I know I am not alone. I know it's popular to bash PrCs if you happen to not like them or not feel you have enough, but I daresay I don't feel modern is near as complete in its selection of classes as D&D/fantasy is. And some people do not jive with the thought of staying in a generic class forever.

Yes. It will stay active. Also note that at the end of the month you will get a zip of all 4 issues.
