Module ideas

If you don't mind working with Pathfinder, there's a trilogy of modules called the Curse of the Golden Spear (that goes from 5th thru 7th level). Basically its about a party of typical western adventurers hired by a merchant to guard a special gift intended to be delivered to foreign lord in a Japan like country called Kaidan (as the start of a trade agreement). Of course everything goes wrong, but there's a gang of yakuza to deal with, encounters with oni, and very creepy haunted inn. Many people consider Kaidan a cross between Oriental Adventures and Ravenloft.

It might hard to squeeze all three adventures in 10 sessions, but I did it in 10 on a playtest.

There are several one-shots created for Kaidan that can fit in the campaign as well. Here's a link to all Kaidan products.

Well... I decided to go with the "aberrations" adventure from necromancer. Small enough for ten sessions with evil things clever encounters and aberrations. At least it'll be dark and gritty enough for my players. Problem is it seems extremely hard for a party with 2 people that never played again.

I may need to tone at least the first encounters down a bit. I'm also thinking to add "the ebony mirror" adventure in it if they're fast enough (takes a couple of sessions only) but I really really like it as it's something new for DND so it'll add some good variety for the players that have played again in the past.

Reason I didn't go with pathfinder even if it has quite a few interesting adventures for these levels is that in my ten years of DND I never played or read pathfinder books, and converting stuff to 3.5 would be quite hard for me...
