module shopping

From what I've seen of Pathfinder, the crawls tend to be smaller, though. And this is really Paizo's philosophy - make several dungeon crawls, each with a theme, in one adventure. Which is, in my opinion, the better way to go.

+1

The Pathfinder series is awesome. I've been reading them and dying to run them. The cool thing about the modules is that you get a bit of everything - towns/cities, social interaction, cool encounters, wilderness travel, dungeons, etc - but you don't get too much of any one thing. On top that, the story is cool, writing top-notch, and art and cartography are amazing.

Paizo's Gamemastery and Pathfinder lines set the bar extremely high in regards to 3.5 adventures. I find the DCC line to be a mixed bag; I've paged through quite a few but only a couple of really captured my attention (DCC 34 and 38 are the best, but they are also most like a Gamemastery adventure, which is not suprising given their respective authors). They haven't been mentioned yet, but I also like GR's Bleeding Edge series.

As for WotC, I think that their recent FR trilogy are the best adventures they've produced since The Red Hand of Doom. I also think their DD series is pretty good also, especially parts 2 (the best of the bunch) and 3.
