Modules with deicide as the plot

I'm trying to determine how many modules use deicide as the plot. I can't really think of any but then I've never really been into modules. This is for a project I'm working on so thanks in advance for any help or suggestions you can give.

Maybe I'm just not getting it- but can you explain what 'decide' is in reference to plot.

I would guess that you are refering to a non-linear plot where characters are not railroaded along from one event to the next. If this is the case, I cannot think of any off the top of my head. I find that some of the newer stuff from the last couple years try to give you more options in choosing your path. The old dungeon crawls had the basic go left or right option, but they did not have and affect on each other.

It would be hard to write for each option if you has a totally non-linear dungeon. Say you had 5 mini-dungeons around town and no order to go, the party would go through any one of them and you would have to plan events the other 4 would take based on the first. I wonder if having more than a few options would be worth it in 4e where the characters go up in level every 9 encounters or so. Say each of the 5 minis has 4 encounters for a night of gaming you would need to raise the challenge for the ones not chosen, either that or the first ones are too hard for the level of the party.

Not that the party shouldn't have the option of retreating from the dungeon once they become aware that they are dying.

By deicide, do you mean killing a god? The other thing I can think of off the top of my head is the 2e Planescape module Dead Gods, but that only comes close in that you're trying to keep a god from coming back to life.

Yeah, Dead Gods and the Throne of Bhaal are pretty much the only ones I can think of too, and neither of them are truly about killing gods.

Die Vecna Die! might also come close, once you get into it, but again, not exactly what you're looking for/not a central theme.

Hmm, didn't you come up against Lloth in Queen of the Demonweb Pits for 1e? She might have just been a demon lord back then though.

Yeah, pretty sure Lolth was just a demon back then.

Anyway, this is good. It means my plot for my adventure modules isn't going to be "been there, done that" :)

She was both: demon and lesser goddess so Q1 was most definitely the first adventure with deicide as its goal.

Malhavoc's Requiem for a god is a 3E product that might spark some ideas.

What a goober I am, decide/deicide, hooked on reading werked for me. ;)

I still cannot help you though. I do seem to remember a FR god dying, Moander? That may just be in a book. There was another one where Wakeen was dead or kidnapted.

The backstory for the Wotc Chainmail minis game had some Deicide.

Chris Pramas said:
The current war was sparked by a staggering event. A group of mortal heroes killed the god of war in an attempt to rid the Sundered Empire of war altogether. Their plan backfired in spectacular fashion. The dying war god scattered his panoply across the world, and told the two surviving heroes that there would be nothing but war until a new god arose in his place. It is now believed that the warrior mighty enough to reassemble the godly panoply will become the next god of war.

Moander, from the Forgotten Realms setting, died in the Time of Troubles, IIRC. Was there a series of modules for this realm-shaking event? Or was it just a bunch of novels? If there were modules, I'd guess this might be a good place to start looking for inspiration. I'm not famliar with any of this, as I only know of it second hand.

I'm not famliar with Dragonlance, but in the numerous cataclysms, were there any god killing events involved there too?
