(Mongoose) Encyclopaedia Arcane Compendium - Out Now!

MongooseMatt

First Post
Hi guys,

The first volume of the Encyclopaedia Arcane Compendium is out now in your local games stores and book shops. This is a new series of books for us, taking the very best from the three year old Encyclopaedia Arcane series, revising the rules, updating them to 3.5 and adding a few new bits of our own!

This Compendium is a 256 page hardback, making it a durable resource for any arcane spellcaster looking to delve into the deeper arts. Four separate disciplines are covered within - Demonology, Necromancy, Battle Magic and the all new Transmutation!

Each has been newly laid out, and updated with not only the 3.5 version of rules, but also from the suggestions and comments made by fans over the past three years. Battle Magic, for example, no longer requires you to erase all the spells you have worked hard to compile in the past - you can now move straight into the discipline to become a true Battle Mage!

Demonology takes your mage along the road of summoning fiends from other planes, bound to do your bidding but intent on taking your soul. Can you tread the line that separates power from disaster?

Necromancy opens up the world of the dead and, possibly, the path to eternal life. No longer will you be without a manservant as all the powers of the afterlife will be yours to command.

Battle Magic is perhaps the ultimate destructive combat power. With this discipline you will sweep whole battlefields away with your spells and alter the destiny of kingdoms.

Transmutation is a brand new, never before seen Encyclopaedia focussing on the fascinating world of magical alteration.

The Encyclopaedia Arcane Compendium is a 256 page hardback, priced at $34.95, and is available now from all good games stores and book shops.

Wow, this compendium just happens to fill in the gaps of many of the EAs I don't have already.

Can you clue us in to how the Encyclopedia Arcane Compendium series is going to continue?

Well, overall, it depends on you chaps :) If the first Compendium continues to fly out of the warehouse as it has over the past couple of weeks, then we will no doubt do another! Speaking of which, what Encyclopaedias would yu chaps like to see in a volume two?

Wow, a chance to influence MP's upcoming products!

I'll think about that one.

Personally I'd like to see Constructs, Elementalism, Enchantment, and Illusionism in the next volume.

I haven't picked up the Compendium yet, but I'm definitely getting it next time I go on a RPG shopping spree.

Any chance of combining all your Power Class booklets into one compendium?

I'd say those would be good choices.

I wouldn't mind seeing Divination redone, I liked that. Tomes and Libraries would be a good one to put with it, but I think Tomes and Libraries was published after 3.5 came out (wrong?)

Is the Encyclopedia Arcane Compendium series only going to include stuff that was published during hte 3.0 era?

I'd actually like to see Constructs done with Crossbreeding. Expand both books and make it a semi-monster manual style as both had a lot of great ideas in them butn eeded ever more examples to fully use. Perhaps grab some other OGC out there, like the material from Sean's Path of Magi by Troll Lord Games.

If I like this first one i would like to see all of them re-done, i don't really care which ones are in which books, even though Joe's suggestion looks solid, I just want good product.
