(Mongoose) Licences and RPGs

After reading the thread I think it's Stargate, which I would be happy with. B5 also I would be happy with. But so far no one as mentioned...

BattleStar Galactica, a SciFi TV series and a film, though IIRC the film was not released in the states. I'm not saying this is it nor would I bet on it nor do I hear a clamor for it but I would definately look at it if it was done.

Just a thought... please don't hurt me too much. *Ducks under table to avoid thrown objects*

I loved Battlestar Galactica, even have a prop from the TV show (accident).
If we are talking older stuff then why not ------------------------>

Buck Rogers

But as a publisher, it would have to be something still worthy enough to spend time/money for a license, so keep that in mind. Some properties like Buck Rogers, Battlestar, Lost in Space may not capture a market like a SG-1 RPG or a Conan

Whatever it is I for one want to know, and know now!!!!!

*gives mean smirk to Matt, so he gets nervous and spills the beans*

Doctor Who

I would love to see a licensed Doctor Who RPG in the D20 system from Mongoose. Berty Bassett aside, there is great roleplaying potential in the Doctor Who Universe, and I really think it should be a British based company that does it.

LMAO
I did not say I wanted it just wanted to throw out a title that was old.

So sensitive Darrin

It just brings me back to a time when I was a child and I was first introduced to the meaning of the word mediocrity. If I remember right, the network cut the Battlestar Gallactica budget in half (losing their two biggest actors in the process, and any hope of having a quality show after that), cancelled it, then replaced BG with Buck Rogers, which had a special effects budget smaller than my yearly sallary, horrible actors, and special guest appearances by the likes of Gary Coleman.

Blech.

You know....another series/movie just came to mind.....

Now it is not strictly science-fiction but then again the term sci-fi has been stretched a bit in the last few years....

Highlander?

Oh goodness no, it simply has to be Space: 1999.... ;)
Didn't they like maybe do a made for tv movie or something... anything of that sort that would allow those snazzy white bell bottoms to once again pounce across the outer reaches of the galaxy!
No, I'm sorry, that was already done in an rpg years ago... called Space Opera....
:D

hmmm, a tv show and a movie......

As for Dune, I know Children of Dune is coming out in March or April on the Sci-fi channel, so if its Dune then that would be really good timing for that show.

I hope its not Highlander, I just don't see how a good rpg would pan out...I just don't see a group of Immortals forming a cohesive group when the entire plot is to be the ONLY one.

It's possible that they made a deal with Decipher, but that wouldn't make to much sense since they just released a new Star Trek edition game a few months back...unless those are not selling well at all.

StarGate has been begged for for a long time now, and that would be a cool game, but I would much prefer Dune.

I have a question now, and I hope I don't get lynched for asking this, but what is Lone Wolf? **Ducking under the same table the other person ducked under** :D

Lone Wolf was a series of gamebooks that originated in the 1980's. They were written by a fellow named Joe Dever. You can check out Project Aon, where the first eleven books in the series (28 in total) have been made available online.

In the books, you are a Kai Lord (sort of a Psychic Warrior/Ranger) who's monastery is destroyed by your archenemies, the Darklords. Your initial quest is to stop the Darklord menace (that is a very basic overview, by the way).
