I would classify it more like a cult following, strangely enough most of the people I know that play Traveller still use the original books and have no desire to change.

I have the old CT books but I'm not a fan of the system. I don't like the random PC generation or the random world generation or the main ship combat rules. I'd prefer they'd do a system similar to B5 RPG 2e which uses some of the d20 Modern rules.

I doubt that it will attact many young gamers.
