Mongoose New License

Hmmmm... SONY owns the rights to Underworld (The Movie). What better way to stick it to White-Wolf than by license Underworld out to another company to produce a d20 game where you play Werewolves and Vampires. That'd definitely get them even with White-Wolf for that stupid lawsuit. SONY could also make a really good FPS/3PS game for the Playstation based on Underworld too.

Well, based on the hints, I would say Everquest, but of course S&S already owns that liscense.

But the hints (at least in my mind) GREATLY point toward EQ.

Think bigger :)

I'm having trouble thinking up something that is bigger then Dr Who or James Bond. Dune would fit but is that Sony? I don't think Starship Troopers is bigger then Dr Who or James Bond. Aliens and/or Predator might be but they're not Sony. And as I think about it I don't think Dr Who or Bond are either but I'm not sure about that.

Yeah but I am sure that White-Wolf pissed off Sony when they filed their lawsuit against them for Underworld. Sony might have decided not to renew the license with White Wolf after that. White-Wolf should have remembered the ancient adage "Never bite the hand that feeds you".

That being the case, I can easily see it being EQ.

While it is in Sony's right, I don't think they're petty enough to sever all business ties. The film is one matter entirely. The game (which is under subsidiary company, Sony Online Entertainment) is another separate matter.

It must be Starship Troopers

I think it's pretty clear that it is Starship Troopers. A few years have passed, since I've last seen the film, but I'm quite sure that this quote:

"Countdown to Victory begins. . ."

is from the Starship Troopers movie. (I copied the quote from Psion's post).

Can someone confirm, that this quote is indeed from the film? I think it appears in those TV-ad style scenes.

The EQ license continues for another full year at least.

However, that is not to say that the EQ2 license may not be about.
