Hi guys,

Appearing in your local stores in just a couple of days will be the latest supplement for Judge Dredd RPG - The Rookie's Guide to the Undercity, by Matt Sharp.

The book kicks off with a History of the Undercity, starting from the East Coast American cities that were concreted over to form the foundations of Mega-City One, and taking a look at the rise of the Troggies and the thriving community that now has spread beneath the Big Meg.

The Ecology of the Undercity gives an idea of what life is truly like in this part of Mega-City One, and how inhabitants have adapted to a life without light. Games Masters are given a clue as to the types of structures that exist there, as well as some of the landmarks. This is followed by Dwellers in the Darkness which gives details on how to run some of the characters that can be found there. The Undercity Dweller is a new Prior-Life for the Citizen character class, allowing GMs and players to build characters from this realm and several of the better known tribes have been fleshed out, giving plenty of guidance on how unique Undercity characters can be, even from one another. Finally, the Undercity Chieftain prestige class will give perp characters a new patron to earn credits form (and no doubt later rob), and a new enemy for judges to combat.

Visiting the Undercity outlines just why certain people voluntarily enter this world from Mega-City One. Citi-Def squads go on training exercises but there is also great interest from criminal cartels, refugees, fugitives, tourists (!), treasure hunters and junk prospectors. The Justice Department also has its own interests down here, as this is where many Long Walk judges end their careers - if your judge team has defeated the biggest, baddest criminals in Mega-City One, perhaps it is time for them to retire with this all new prestige class.

The Technology chapter takes a look at the various devices to be found in the Undercity - residents can rarely take advantage of all the luxuries enjoyed by the citizens of Mega-City One and the environment has spawned its own creations, such as the Bootleg Blaster, Guano Bomb and Nightrider Carbine. Primitive vehicles are also detailed, along with the few robots that trawl these depths.

Creeps details some of the residents of the Undercity, allowing you to place them directly in your games. These include the Arlington Zombie, Clawrantula, Deep Troggie, Giant Bat, Werewolves, Grumble Toads, Hawgs, Hood Jaws, Holy Fiends and many, many more. It is not a nice place in the Undercity!

Finally, Undercity Characters details two of the more well known characters that have appeared in the comic strips of 2000AD - Grubby Smells and Long Walk Judge Prager.

The Rookie's Guide to the Undercity is priced at $14.95 and will be available in your local stores in just a couple of days.
