Mongoose's "The-game-that-still-cannot-be-mentioned"...what is it?

i thought mongoose said that its NOT Babylon 5.

Don't know about that, but here are some quotes from the other thread...

Mongoose_Matt said "Hi guys, Not much longer to wait now However, if you flick through the pages of the latest Dragon magazine, you should find a real doozy of a clue. . ."

Baraendur said: "B-Minus 120 days and counting... OK, this is a big clue, and something that brings me right back to Babylon 5. First of all the obvious: "B," may stand for Babylon 5. Second, the term B-minus. This is very similar to Z-minus, which is the military term used at the end of season 3, for the 6 or 7 episodes right before Sheridan went to Z'Ha'Dum. This was of course the pivotal point in the Shadow War story arc. Third, Straczynski made a statement that the first round of the new B5 RPG would be released sometime around May. Lets see now, 120 days and counting from the December release... 30 days per month... that's 4 months... if the secret project isn't Babylon 5, I'll be a drazi lurker."

Plus Matt had said that most people had managed to put 2 and 2 together, and alot of people think it's Babylon 5....

I hope they come up with a good starship combat game for it. Or maybe try to get the rights to use the Full Thrust-based system used by Chameleon Eclectic for their game. Or even try to somehow resurrect the B5 Wars/Fleet Action systems that the recently-defunct Agents of Gaming released. They have ready-made audiences.

I dunno, maybe it's just me but his talk of a "curse" kinda threw me for a loop.

Yeah. That had me wondering too.

Sci-Fi.
TV show.
Movie.
Cursed.
Maybe bigger than Conan.

Twilight Zone?!?!

I've heard talk of a curse in relation to B5; basically, it's what was blamed for things like the show continually being in danger of cancellation and things along those lines.

Man, I hope its B5. Of course we all know that a B5 game will be done soon (see my comments posted above), but I think that Mongoose has what it takes to do it right.

And yes, B5 definitely needs a good ship to ship combat system. Hopefully they can use Dragonstar's system, or something else that we've seen before so that we don't have to deal with yet another set of rules.

Well. Case closed then, eh?

But it hasnt affected the creators. See Jeremiah for evidence of that...and the film of Rising Stars...if it ever makes it out of development hell. And JMS's comic work generally.

Of course the cast dont seem to have gotten much work lately.
