Monkey Grip

Picture:

Cloud (FF7)
Sanosuke (Ruroni Kenshin)
Gatsu (Berserk)

I made a character modeled after the anime character Gatsu from Berserk who did exactly that - weilded a huge greatsword with a modified version of monkey grip.

Thing is, if I am not mistaken, one would also have to take an EWP to become proficient in such a weapon to avoid the -4 penalty. With the -2 from monkey grip already in effect, the larger damage potential (2d8) for two whole feats from a powergaming perspective is completely worthless. So fortunately any player that comes to your requesting to do this is defintely concerned with roleplaying and not rollplaying. Of course I believe a character wielding something like that should get a circumstances bonus to all intimidate checks for a creature of equal size or smaller.

Flexing the ol' Smack Muscles, eh Jeremy? :)

I have No problem with this. I know a friend who's going for Dragon Discipline going for this. Large and Incharge, as well as this feat, to get a Gargantuan Sword. :)

I could see a Minotaur wielding a gargantuan chain, for example. Heavy as heck, but you don't want him to swing that at you!

The dragon disciple should have the chain. I had a (NPC)1/2orc Sorc1/barb2/dragon disciple10/fighter2/frezied berzerker5 who was the leader of the 1/2breed army, whoose goals was to found and start the 1/2breed nation.(1/2orcs, 1/2elves goined his army in droves)Anyway he wielded a huge spiked chain and since he wa large it had a reach of 25'. Add in that he could fly, and the fun never stopped with that 44str(54 when raging and frenzied) If I ever return to that cmapaign this guy is going epic and taking the final 5 levels of frenzied berserker for the supreme power attack, and even more str on a frenzie.

Sorry, I'm just reminded of the Werebear/Half-dragon Frenzied Berzerker that some munchkin played in a game I was in. He had a 52 str when all things added up. He made everyone ineffective.

WARNING: No doubt there will be mention of a Barbarian Archer in the following few threads.

If you aren't too busy urinating on yourself, could you tell me the best way to convert his prophetic dream ability to 3E? Thanks.

That's 142nd level. A lot of things that are absurd at level 10, look fine at that level. :D

PLAYER: "My character has to wear a Ballerina outfit????"

DM (CROTHIAN): "Don't worry, once you go epic your paladin will look totally sweet like that."

Don't under estimate the power of a Ballerina outfit. I once played this dwarven dancer that did best version of swan lake you ever did see. He'd spin around and then use the momentum to swing his axe. Plus since he was usually on his tip toes he was almost 5ft tall. :D

Urinating on myself? Atleast I'm not lusting after a 1e class. :)

Post the Prophetic Dreams, and I'll give a shot. Of course, what the heck is a barbarian doing with freaky dreams?
