Obviously. That is why RoleMaster had its book of 1,001 Critical Hit tables. Very cool idea. Bit slow for my tastes though.

Of course someone might just mention that in a Japanese Anime of a name I cannot think of, there is an Archer whose schtick is the rapid ranged decapitation of his enemies. Never seen it, but its supposed to be good. :)
 

About being decapitated by an arrow: yeah, it's pretty wonky if that kind of thing happens, but that's why I don't have the numbers written in for random crit generation. I try to leave out unreasonable choices (like disarming the dire wolf) and roll based on what's left.

Princess Mononoke is the movie, one of the greatest animes in my opinion. And he's only able to do that because he has a sweetness bow and his arm is possesed by a demon's curse.
