I love spring attack, and I actually like whirlwind attack with monks, way too many jet lee movies. Anyhow just wanted to say about spring attack and ready. Sure someone can ready an attack to whack you, but I doubt someone watching and waiting to pound you is subtle, so just change targets, and if there is only one target spring attack once, and then get in their and pound the target down with your comrades, don't be some nancy boy HTH combatant letting everyone else take the hurts.
The big weakness of spring attack is ranged weapons. You are much more screwed by the fighter who pulls out a bow and gets a full attack on you than the fighter who waits with a readied attack in the hopes you'll try to use spring attack on him again. Then again with a monks movement and the right boots, you have a decent chance to drop kick someone, then run far enough to get out of sight. By the way your move silent/hide is only at -20 when making a full move so you might be able to move/attack/move out of sight, next round hide/move silent/ move/attack/move which will even avoid a readied attack unless that fighter makes his spot check.
Only reason I might consider combat reflexes is for the shadowdancer prestige class, the 1st level is all that matters. (hide in plain sight baby)
