Excellent, Atoomis! Thank you.
What were the tactics of this beast supposed to be?
I noted that above, but I'll add in a bit more.
Note that it was allowed one extra standard action (but not a move) as a special feature of the creature (not from a feat or spell).
Round 1: Fly up, Hover, (getting full concelament), call a lesser son of set in to help - who would in turn call 1-12 Minions of Set each round.
Round 2. Continue to call in 1-6 Minions of Set every round. Move and Hover - attempting to get one member of the party inside the cloud of derbis raised by the hover.
Round 3. Rinse and repeat, eliminating one member of the party at a time if possible.
This guy was going to make every attempt to stay out of the combat if possible. As far as he was concerned, all the creatures he would call into help him were expendable.
The party was supposed to be so busy fighting off threats form every direction that it would not be able to concentrate on him.
Has had 212 hit points which, as it turns out, was about 10 too few!! Drat it.
I was very tempted to cheat and give him a few more hit points on the fly, but that would not have been fair. I am not entirely above dooing such things, mind you.
I would also note that he survived two massive damage saves, which were rolled out in the open, as are nearly all my rolls as a DM.
Finally, Minions of Set are only about 9HD, and so would not be too tough at all for this 16th-level party. They were just supposed to keep everyone busy.
On the good side, my turn as DM is now over, and I can focus in simply being a player again!
