Monster BAB and Ranged Weapons?

Let's say a monster has a BAB of +22 but doesn't have any listed ranged attacks.

Monster wants to use a ranged weapon, say a thrown weapon.

Does the monster get 5 ranged attacks per round based on its +22 BAB?

This assumes the monster is capable of throwing that many weapons (e.g., Quick Draw, magic item, etc.)

Monsters without class levels are assumed to be non-proficient with any weapon not listed in their entry. Sure, they should be able to take iterative attacks, but at a -4 penalty.

Yes, in that it gets multiple BAB based attacks. That is how BAB works.

Buuut, I do think one only gets 4 attacks total from BAB.

Base Attack Bonus
A base attack bonus is an attack roll bonus derived from character class and level or creature type and Hit Dice (or combinations thereof). Base attack bonuses increase at different rates for different character classes and creature types. A second attack is gained when a base attack bonus reaches +6, a third with a base attack bonus of +11 or higher, and a fourth with a base attack bonus of +16 or higher. Base attack bonuses gained from different sources, such as when a character is a multiclass character, stack.

Ah, good point. In the epic level handbook, it lists a number of NPCs with BAB above 22, but with only 4 iterative attacks.

Epic Level Handbook pg 7 (Behind the Curtain at bottom of page)

"A high base attack bonus never grants a creature more than 4 attacks with any given weapon using the full attack option."

Excluding natural weapons I assume? Because dragons get more than 4 attacks...

Number of natural weapons a creature gets has nothing to do with BAB, and natural weapons don't get to take iterative attacks unless specified otherwise (A high level druid's animal companion with multiattack class feature being one example).
