Does anyone have this? I don't run PF, i'm doing 5th edition now, but i'm wondering if it has anything salvageable for 5e D&D....

I do - got it as part of my regular subscriptions.

The usefulness for 5E DMs is quite limited.

A typical entry is...

One introductory art page with an in-universe quote
One page of text about the society of the creatures.
Two pages of new rules (feats, items and spells, typically)
Seven pages of monster stat-blocks (mostly crunch, very little descriptive text)
One page of encounters (just a list of monsters or monster groups by CR)

Here's a sample of the text about the Fire Giant's society:

"Fire giants simultaneously embody the tempered reserve of finely crafted steel and the fury of wildfires. They are both the most warlike and the most organized of the giant races. They are contemplative, strategic, and violent—a dangerous combination for those that fall beneath the fierce gaze of fire giant nobility and their bloodthirsty generals. Fire giants’ military campaigns are always preceded by careful, lengthy deliberation. Their war rooms and courts churn with activity; indeed, the undercurrent of violence can be felt in every facet of fire giant society."

I'm not sure how useful you find it; I personally hate Paizo's house style of writing descriptive text.

Cheers!

Thanks Merric.

The descriptive fire giant text doesn't sound unlike the 5e monster book already. I've been sampling monster powers from 13th Age and adding them to 5e, so i was wondering if this book had anything similar. Overall, it might just be a book that sits on the shelf and looks pretty. And i have enough of those already!
