Take a group of monsters that haven't been updated to MM3 standards, give some new ideas for how to use them, updated stats... I think this would especially do epic tier some good.

Interesting article, and the attention to epic tier is not undeserved. That said, I'd rather see updates for material prior to MM3/Monster Vault, since the monsters in those are already pretty well done. Earlier solos and other options are where work is really needed, and some iconic updates would be especially nice.

That's what this is--an iconic update to the Ancient Black Dragon from MM1. (There is no Ancient Black Dragon in MM3/MV, according to the Compendium.)

Heck, this is almost how Monster Manuals should be written.

I have Issues With 4e Dragons (the "Dire Pikachu" problem), but this is a really solid article, and deserves a couple of high fives.

That's what this is--an iconic update to the Ancient Black Dragon from MM1. (There is no Ancient Black Dragon in MM3/MV, according to the Compendium.)

There are no ancient dragons in the MV full stop, which was and still is a very sore spot for me. There are ancient catastrophic dragons in MM3 though.
