Yes it was.

Even with ocr, you can't reduce the size of a pdf too much without losing picture quality. Before wotc started selling pdfs, scanned copies were heavy but some had better bookmarks, links and pictures than the official ones.
That's another reason why I think they're made by fans.

A good, scanned and OCR'ed version of arcane power weighs just under 25 MB and it is good quality :)

Kindly keep this to MM2, thank you.

And oh, please try to keep the discussion to what encompasses the domain of the general public.

Unsubstantiated claims help noone.

On 4chan somebody was already busy scanning the MM about a week ago. I saw a few hastily (and poorly) done pages as evidence that he was really doing it, showing some dragons and other beasties.

So frankly I'm surprised it's not all over the web already.

Its interesting to note that the new Saga Edition Star Wars rulebook, that came out the same day, popped up within 24 hours, both a basic scan and an optimized one with bookmarks.

Obviously it can be done in a short period of time, but I suppose its a matter of interest by those that do the pirating, and perhaps the demand in any particular crowd.

Just a basic *bump* to encourage more people to vote and discuss (this thread was originally part of the temporary forum, and when they merged the threads into here, they all dropped below the radar straight away. I found this way down on page four myself)

All I know is MM will take more time to hit DDI this month and my Amazon copy will probably be delivered at june's end...

There should be a PDF copy of paper books for those who live far away from US :P

Yes, the WotC decision probably hurts non-US customers more. However, that has been discussed extensively elsewhere.

In other news, it's interesting to see that fully 30% of the voters voted 9 days or more (probably as a reaction to the AP delays)

What is the official release date, by the way?

LOL, I would be happy with ANY PDF copy here, where I live.
