Monster Manual 3: What do we know about it?

the Jester

Legend
What info do we have about the MM3?

I know that we'll see catastrophe dragons, which I surmise are reimagined oriental dragons (since they were earthquake, typhoon, etc before). Has any other info come out about it? Do we have a release date or anything yet?

Awww, they're doing Oriental dragons before Gem Dragons? Boo.
I don't think we've heard anything about gem dragons. I don't even think they've really thought about them in 4e. They might after they get the scourge dragons done (which I presume will be in MM4).

As far as MM3, Lolth will be in it, as will mimics I believe.

I don't know if I'd directly equate the catastrophe dragons with Oriental dragons, as the volcanic dragon that was playtested didn't seem anything like an Oriental dragon from previous editions to me.

From the November and Beyond previews we learned that MM3 will include the mimic, quasit, and catoblepas.

didn't we hear it would have some three-headed monster on the cover (al la orcus for mm1 and the two-headed one for mm2).... which then says that said three-headed creature will be a foe stated out in an entry along with necessary mooks/minions/footmen.

OR i'm just remembering a joke rather than actual info. :)

I really don't know which it was.
