We've eaten owlbear (lots and lots of steak, and white meat to boot!) giant lobsters (yum!) dire boars (DIRE BACON!!!!) and several other things in one campaign, so as not to let the meat go to waste (I was playing a Ranger and was loathe to waste my kills.)
My brother always got a perverse glee by having his Paladin eat the Kenku eggs while playing Eye of the Beholder for Super Nintendo.
We typically stay away from eating the flesh of sapient beings, except when playing an Evil party (where we once killed an ancient silver dragon and butchered the whole thing, made armor and cloaks out of its hide, and had several months worth of dragon-steaks. Even et a flesh golem, then a vampire [while it was still conscious, got that idea from a character from Delta Green] and finally an angel [a Planetar, I believe] with that party. Talk about a vile group of people. I always thought the whole party should have become ghouls or ghasts after we died, and then kept playing them, but it never happened.)
I've always wanted to introduce winged buffalo into my campaign setting so that actual buffalo wings could be a delicacy in certain areas, and I think the next campaign I run will involve them somehow.
