Monster of the Week: Elder Tempest Blue Dragon

Hmmm...the reduction in hp is completely in line with the Solo creation rules with MM2. I don't want the fight to last longer...I want it to be more exciting. Which explains some of the later stuff

Yeah, I think I must be the only person who thinks that solo's should have more, not less HP's.

Personally I want a fight with a solo to last maybe 6 to 10 rounds in order to be a meaningful encounter. A solo with 738 HPs would last 3 maybe 4 rounds which in me and my groups opinion is too short.

It's actually a downgrade from the Elder Blue Dragon (which does a stun, not dazed). Stunning generally isn't fun, and this power as you say, is to enable the dragon to disengage. It also does very little damage, which is a big incentive not to use it if it doesn't have to.

You're right, for some reason I didn't actually check the creature against the elder blue (which I should have done).

In that case you might get away with increasing the damage, maybe to 2d6+7 or 2d8+7.

Remember it does have it's aura, and would still get it's minor action attack too. So it still gets lots of attacks, but dazes at least would delay the breath weapon, which the PCs would really not want to see a lot of. :-)

I misread the Unstoppable Villain power and thought it activated automatically, not as a free action.

Yes, thanks for the feedback!
