Monster spread sheet

Dark Dragon

Explorer
Hi, I'm looking for an Excel-type monster spread sheet (something like where templates and/or advancements can be added), even if it is for MM I "only".

Thanks for help,

I'll have to build one some day. My last one, ages ago, didn't have template functionality but I've learned a thing or three since then. But advancing creatures worked just fine.
Never finished upgrading it to 3.5, though.

There is an advancement spreadsheet (3.0) floating around out there, but I don't remember where I got mine...

(And, since it is a spreadsheet, updating it to 3.5 is a breeze, if you know anything about spreadsheets...) Google doesn't turn up anything?

Don't be silly. If you've as much as looked at 3.5, you should know that changing the code is just the start. I did that within a few minutes.

But I have better things to do than looking over the stats of hundreds of monsters to figure out whether something in their stats was changed. Many are quite different creatures than they were in 3.0.
Not to mention revising dozens of custom ones myself so they're compliant with 3.5 DR, resistances, number of skill points, etc., and re-evaluating their CR because of these changes.

Especially considering that I don't need the bulk of them any more in my current games. Sure, I could do it anyway but I have more important things to work on.

Thanks to everybody for posting! :)

Darkness, I agree, it is a lot of work to create a new sheet, and it is still a lot of work to upgrade an existing one (did that with Steve's spell sheet)....

Wonko, your spread sheets are very close to what I was looking for, thanks for the link!

D00d, I'm not being silly. Maybe you and I have a different idea about what an "advancement" spreadsheet entails... because I have no clue what you're talking about. ("Looking over the stats of hundreds of monsters?")

With the spreadsheet I have, you simply input the original basic stats and creature type and then select the new HD and size, and it calculates the rest (abilities, hps, saves, etc) for you. It's just a simple little thing, that isn't dependent on "looking over the stats of hundreds of monsters".

"Silly"? Easy does it, bud.

Both of the spreadsheets above (Monster Advancement and Dragon Generator) are 3.5-based.

And they were built from the ground up, I might add...everybody has a slightly different way of building something like this, and it's just easier to start from scratch rather than change the non-3.5-compliant bits.

Plus, I learned a thing or two about Excel in the process.

Dark Dragon: You're welcome :D
