Yeah I meant it for emphasis, I didn't mean literally ball up the first draft and toss it. I meant it as "don't get tied to your first draft, its a starting point, but often you will come up with better ideas in the 2nd and that's perfectly fine and good, people shouldn't get tied to an idea just because it was in the first one"
Yeah that I do agree with. Nothing wrong with throwing out standard conventions when doing creative work.

Just a quick update as I am very busy with illustration work these next few weeks.

Distraction Makers actually made a non-critical (i think) video about EDH. I have not seen the whole thing yet as I am pretty busy but I figured I would post it here. The vid focuses on the best three things about commander/ EDH.

Just another public notice that while Distraction Makers are sometimes critical of MTG and its current direction, they are doing so out of both love and respect for the game and game design in general. Sometimes in order to improve the games we play, we need to have a critical eye and be willing to accept criticism in order to improve upon game design in general.
