Monster Vault

I'll just repeat my annoyance which has remained the same with all of the 4e monster books so far, and which unfortunately seems will be present in the future -- no monster descriptions.

In the beholder description they talk about unwholesomeness of the Far Realm which comes into tenuous contact with the World... etc., etc... and yet somehow it never says something along the lines of "all beholders look basically like a floating ball with a big central eye, mouth, and a number of eyestalks, the exact number of which depends on the type of beholder".

Illustrations are nice and all, but I'd like a description to be included in the monster write-up.

Just my pet peeve.

Regards.

Often the monster's description changes from the text to the illustration.

MM1 says goblins are yellow, and the illustrations are green.

The description for Orcus is nigh-unrecognizable as the raging balor on the MM1 cover.

And the PH3 describes minotaurs as having human-like torsos and arms (with regular human hair).

And hey, you can get tokens for the MM1/2/3 monsters to complement the MV ones!

Since Fiery Dragon doesn't ship to my country, I am more likely to buy these

Counter Collection 4e MM1 [BUNDLE] - Fiery Dragon | DriveThruRPG.com
Counter Collection 4e MM2 [BUNDLE] - Fiery Dragon | DriveThruRPG.com

Klaus, is there a similar product for PC tokens?
I mean, something like a page full of Dwarves, male and female, in different armor/weapon/implement combos, followed by a page of Elves, another of Eladrin, etc.?

You lost me as a customer at "Sorry, we do not ship overseas...."

I'll direct your overseas needs to the Fiery folk, all is not lost.

As for PC counters: the BattleBox has PC counters covering every race/class/gender for the PH1 (in addition to nifty dungeon dressing counters that blend seamlessly with Dungeon Tiles). We're planning more BattleBoxes, and we'll try to include PC counters for the newer races as well (not as much variation, though, since the number of classes grew a lot).

I must chime in as a purchaser of the battlebox that the name is somewhat misleading...

It is NOT in fact a box full of battle... It's a box full of AWESOME! ;)

More, better flavor text = good.
?Lack of description=bad.

There are monsters in some of the books that I have no idea what they look like. And, some of the monsters that have more than one "type", there may be a picture in the book, but it is of the advanced type, and has no resemblance to the other types. I HOPE there is a description in there someplace.
