Hi,
I'm about to run my first 4E session as a DM, and I wonder how you handle monsters that are marked, esp. by a fighter or a paladin. Do they immediately realize the situation they are in (I would think so) and know the consequences of their actions? That is, how do you decide whether they attack the character marking them or a different target, suffering the penalties?
I think this is not a trivial tactical decision, so perhaps attacking the "marker" is the baseline for the standard monster which is tactically not very trained?
