Monsters u haven't used since 1st/2nd Edition

I just used a Flail Snail in the last adventure!

I use Necromancer Games' Tome of Horrors pretty often. One monster I haven't used since 2e was the Stwinger. It was an obscure type of tiny faerie that liked to charm dwarves and swing on their beards, slowly inflicting damage by tugging too hard. Very wacky.

Anyone else realise they haven't used some old favourites yet?

I haven't used Crabmen (from Fiend Folio) yet. After the Chuul came on the scene, Crabmen seem so.... plain. :)

Also, most of the "wierder" creatures I haven't used - Gambadoes, Tweens, Nilbogs, Catoblepas, Meenlocks, Morkoth, etc. While I've used each and every one you mentioned in your first post, I also find myself sticking more to a core of a couple dozen monsters or so, because I find it makes my world-setting more consistent.

Demons and devils -
not including Dretch and quasits. Demons were once my standard Schtick, since 3.x I have used 1 Babu, 1 barbed devil, one or two succubi and some sort of aquatic demon from Field Folio. Well an Ice Devil got involved with his tiefling relative- through some sort of dream state .
actually add that to the 16 dretches and pair of quasits, and that is a fair amount of use.
I like Dretch. especially those named bob. (which is all of them)

Half-elves, half-orcs, orcs, kobolds, goblins, hobgoblins, etc. I'm sick to death of the tens of thousands of humanoid races.

I used an advanced flail snail with the fire creature template from the Manual of the Planes. . . So it was a Flaming Dire Flail Snail. . . . OF DOOM!!! :)

Heh.

I'm actually not sick of a few of those more obscure fellas.

Alot actually.
I seem to be using more humans than creatures at the moment.
But mostly because we have been in a city for the most part.
This changes this weekend most likely so I will see about bringing back some old friends ;)
