Remathilis

Legend
This is going to be a semi-regularly updated list of monsters mentioned in various playtest and articles. The goal is to get a list of monsters that will be in the Monster Manual, but as with all things at this stage, things may change.

Monsters mentioned so far...

Azer (Playtest Report)
Beholder (Reveal, Teaser Art)
Troll (Reveal, Teaser Art)
Demon, Vrock (Blogs)
Demon, Orcus (MM Cover)
Orc (various monster topics)
Goblin (Design and Del: Dungeons)
Hobgoblin: (Design and Del: Dungeons)
Bugbear: (Design and Del: Dungeons)
Dragon, Green (Teaser Art)
Dragon, Red (Design & Del: Monsters)
Ettin (Andy Collins at a Gen Con Seminar)
Snake, Fire (Playtest report, unsure if that is a templated snake or not).

More to come...

According to Mouseferatu, Andy Collins used an Ettin example in one of the seminars:

"Once you build a monster with high hit point and high damage, it's obviously a basher. But that alone is boring; it's not interesting monster design. So you still want to give them something else. The ettin, for instance, has the whole two-heads thing, so it can go twice in one round, and take unrelated actions."

I'm pretty sure we'll see the Iconic D&D monsters. Illithids, carrion crawlers, displacer beasts, slaad, beholders, umber hulks. These are monsters not in the SRD, thus they're concepts purely for D&D usage.

In one of the blogs or playtest reports fire snakes were also mentioned - though they could have been non-MM or templated snakes, but I'd say snakes are definately in! :)

Hm, does the playtest report count? Seems they were using a fair amount of converted material.

Hence the word "think" in the title. Azer's could be in, they could be out. But they were mentioned, so onto the list it goes...
