Monte Cook is writing a fantasy novel

Given Montes usual stuff, I'll buy it probably.

I am really curious as to what the story will be like. I am a pretty big fan of his work and I think this is a bold move for him.

I have to see a book, maybe read a few pages, read the cover blurbs, and so on, before I ever think of picking up a novel. I am extremely picky about the fiction I read. I can't think of a single book I have picked up without extensively reviewing it first.

Comic book writing is very different from fiction writing. Pacing and a number of other issues are really in the hands of the artists, as a rule. The Ptolus comic and Monte's novel are unlikely to reflect much on each other.

Depends on the subject, the style... I'll read reviews and look into the first one or two pages first, then decide.

I'm only fanboy enough to pick-up his RPG stuff unseen.

If it's just the one book okay. Maybe. If it turnes out to be "book one in a trilogy", orworse "... in a series...", then no way.

I am sick of Fantasy stories that get blow up to trilogies, even when thery're not even worth Novel length...

Only a very small number of Authors exist, for whom I have or will buy a book sight unseen. And I've even gotten burned by some of those said Authors, because some of the books I picked up sight unseen turned out to be, IMO, crap (luckily it's only happened a few times).
If I can't get a personal preview, then I won't purchase it. I don't much trust others to review a book for me, other than to give a rough idea of what a book is about.
So no, I won't buy Monte's book sight unseen.

Will it be full color, have artwork on every page, and come with an envelope in the back full of additional material to enhance the novel (including a CD)? If it does, then yes!
