Monte's Divinely Infused Template made levels

He's a mageblade, a wizard fighter hybrid from Arcana Unearthed.

I dont have this book nor have any idea really what it is so I may be way off base

This template seems to lend itself very poorly to a wizardly type. Loseing spell casting levels hurts a lot, and the template doesnt give any int bonus. If it is really a fighter/sorcerer who mainly fights then I could see the loss of casting levels as not being an incredible sacrifice. My thoughts on the fourth level reflected more along the lines of making the template more useful for casters.

I hope that your character likes it! Its great to see a dm helping the character in fun ways

Mage blade actually are more like sorcerers, so the +6 charisma over the three levels will actually help a lot. The spellcasting ability is slightly better then a bards, but they focus it through their weapon instead of song.

I think he will like it. He set his character up with the illusion of being the choosen of his people. So, as the mean DM I am I made it true.

After he has time to go through the first couple of levels of it will you repost to say what he is liking/disliking about it? If he feels it is balanced or not with his class choice? and what his initial +2 to any stat was. I'd like to hear how it works out!

Once he starts taking the template I'll post how it is going. But it won't be for a while. They should be 5th level by the end of the night. I may or may not wait till 12th level to give him the choice of this path. There are more then a few role playing things that need to happen before he has this option. My player does not know what needs to be done, so I'm just going to let it play out and see how long it takes.
