Perhaps a Witch with the Song manifestation type?

Until recently, I havn't been terribly enthusiastic about AU, thinking of it as yet another D20 setting rulebook, but the design diaries about the classes and magic have really whetted my appetite.

It occurs to me that Monte is using the same formula that Eric Noah inadvertently used to make so many people enthusiastic about the then-upcoming 3rd edition of D&D: regular hints and concrete details of cool stuff.

So far the only things I don't like about AU are some of the odd class names, particularly unfettered, greenbond, and warmain.

I was thinking that myself. the Witch is very interesting. I wonder if, along with the "song" manifesttion is "song witch" is one of the subtypes.

This is one of the must haves for 2003, we are getting more goodies from Monte and Sue and this is one of the teams "I can't wait to see what happens" projects. GenCon will be amazing this year, and a lot of the reason will be AU!

We will have our cover art revealed for our AU item posted just after GTS, so late March.

And from an insiders perspective, you all will NOT be disappointed in this fantastic book.

I have little doubt that AU will be fantastic. I'm also looking forward to the modules!

ForceUser AU campaign

ForceUser, if you run a campaign with AU and post a story hour as good as your Vietnamese Story Hour about your AU campaign, I bet you'll boost sales for Monte's book. I'll have to hope you get inspired to post such a story hour on this site for my reading enjoyment.

I would guess that Akashics also make really good bard type characters. But I'm very interested in seeing how many character types have good diplomatic and stealth abilities.

The idea of making an essentially bardic party with a fighters, casters, and skill users who can all dance at the ball is really nifty.

I used to be a bit sceptic about AU but the last Design Diary convinced me it's going to be great! (Perhaps I'd been listening to much to the nay-sayers.) I really like the idea behind it all. One thing I don't like is the name. I know you are supposed to think "Hey AU is just like the old UA, but up-side-down." But it leaves me thinking it's a lame name. I will just stick to using the Malhavoc Handbook (Now that's a great name.)

As soon it's out I'll be creating a magister! Fear my staff. ;)
