IGN has an article on some new D&D Lego minifigures (LEGO Reveals New Star Wars Set and Dungeons & Dragons Line at Comic-Con - Exclusive - IGN):
I love the concept but it would be great if it was more for playing than for displaying. I'd love to see customisable PCs with simpler, more generic, interchangeable species- and class-specific components. And more of the generic, low-level monsters: skeletons, goblins, kobolds, etc. Even if they have to sell them in this "mystery boxes" format. You could do a very expensive mix-and-match with this and the Red Dragon's Tale set, but it still wouldn't really have that customisability.
