More Hirst Molds! [Pictures Again! beware lag monster!]

That's about 70 odd quids worth of moulds plus another another £10 of plaster. I'm just wondering what you could get from Ainsty or Master Maze for nearly £100 of out lay.

Is Hirst moulds really a cheaper option?

Mind you looking at your bookshelf in the final picture it doesn't seem money is too much of a worry.

Now that's a great resource! :)

Using their onsite search engine by "plaster" I found a few choices but none of them were precisely as you said. The closest was this particular one.

Is it the one you purchased? Can you add the name on the label of what you have to this thread? It'd be nice to eliminate the chance for odd surprises... (thanks) :)

Sorry, should have been more specific, they have a bunch of different plasters there.

The one I got was Denstone, the price seems to have gone up a little since looking at it you now get 50 pounds for $39.54, but that still includes shipping and is a great deal. (My guess is they saw a spike in dental plaster purchases as the word got out and shipping 50 pounds of anything isn't cheap).

Here is the direct link:

And of course looking at your link I find that it is indeed the same stuff, just a different amount (25 pounds vs. 50 pounds).

Hope that helps

That's still a great deal, especially with the shipping included. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

just about exactly 70 quid for the molds: (http://www.wargamesworld.com/moulds.htm) that site distributes in the UK. My plaster was under 5 quid easily, for a huge bag... but what it really comes down to in any decision to buy is:

1) Time - Do you have time to do the molding. For me, since doing it, I really enjoy just chilling out with a beer on the balcony and casting a few molds. Before I just would have been chilling out with a beer ;). But Master Maze etc. comes all assembled, so that might appeal to folky who don't mind dropping the money to have it pre-assembled at the cost of quantity and flexibility.

2) How much do you want - Do you want a limited set that comes all together? Or do you want the ability to customíze your sets and produce dungeons for the next 3 years at extremely low cost.

3) Variety - I've seen Master Maze stuff. It was nice, I thought of buying it, then I saw the Hirst Molds and was blown away. The variety of what you can build, and what molds exist far surpass anything else.

Money isn't so much a factor, although in the long run you get FAR FAR more with the Molds because you have 3 years of custom creations ahead of you at the least.

Just my 2cents :)
