More Images of the DMG!

More bloggers are reporting on their advance copies of the DMG. NewbieDM has posted photos of pages dealing with maps, terrain, hexes, and squares. As he says, "Hexes or squares, play how you want. The game doesn't assume squares."

So far, just seeing these reviews, this is exactly what I wanted from a DMG. If I had to bet, I'd say this is the best DMG ever made simply becuase it has distilled down the past generation DMGs into something almost perfect with the variant rule and non assumptions. It's like 4e assumed a particular playstyle and this was the knee jerk reaction to that and in most cases knee jerk reactions are awful but not this time.

It does look so far like it might be the best DMG ever. so excited. Although i agree, it looks like too many random tables of stuff, but i'll get over it.

Let's not go crazy yet, guys and girls! Most (almost all?) of us haven't seen the whole thing yet, and there are some strong previous contenders for "Best DMG". It's gonna be tough to top 1E AD&D's "chart-for-everything-ever-in-D&D-including-random-prostitute-encounters" approach.
