More terrorism in London?

I've been lucky again - I was at work (Oxford Circus) the last 2 days, but stayed home today (the advantage of academia) & I've missed another attack. Unfortunately my wife is in every day & this time they attacked our tube line (Northern). :(

Best of luck to everyone.

I just got off the phone with the wife of my best friend. My best friend was scheduled to land at Heathrow today for a business meeting tomorrow. She hasn't yet heard from him (his plane was supposed to land about an hour ago), but I'm betting it's because things have probably slowed to a crawl at the airport, if they're moving at all.

My guess is they may still be on the tarmac, just sitting in the plane? And later, customs (he's inbound from the U.S.) will probably be snail's pace? Anyway, just hope he's o.k., and also wanted to wish everyone in the U.K. well. S'mon, hope your wife gets home without too much delay, and safely.

Take care, everyone,

My speculation is it looks like nail bombs didn't go off right...
That was my initial thought too but if they had really intended to cause maximum damage, they would have chosen a time when there are more people on the Tube. It could be that the terrorists are trying to drive people onto buses during this evening's rush hour and that's when and where the real attacks will occur.

I'm working from home as per normal today, and my wife was sitting on a train waiting to go into work at lunchtime... after sitting for a long while she phoned up work and they said "stay at home" so we're all back home at the moment.

Thank-you to the well wishers.

Cheers

My gut tells me this was a copycat crime, but it still is no laughing matter. If you happen to "live 'cross the pond", please keep your heads down and your eyes open.

Has there been any further news? The only thing I can seem to find is that the Prime Minister has asked for calm, that the extent hasn't been assessed yet, and there's been one injury reported.

Plane Sailing, glad you two are safe at home.

My best wishes to our UK members and the British people, who have had to face another series of attacks. Fortunately, there seems to be only one injury.

S'mon, I hope that your wife and all Londoners have a peaceful commute tonight --- even if it might be longer than usual.

Heard from the wife of my best friend: he's o.k. His plane landed four hours late (which makes sense, they were probably circling until they could get an o.k. to land) and he hadn't gotten through customs when he called, so my guess is he's in for a long day just getting from point A to point B. But he's o.k., and that's what matters.

Hope all the U.K. residents are safe and sound tonight.

Best wishes,

The police have just under 2 hours ago shot an apparent attempted suicide bomber on a train at Stockwell underground station, north of where I live, on the line my wife & I take to work. Guess we were smart to both stay home today.
