We only use one DM. If it comes to a point that one DM runs out of ideas, then that DM takes a break and some other DM starts a new game.

For d&d I've found that one dm works alot better than 2. For spycraft, on the other hand, we found that the duel dm situation (one as a pc and the other as the control) worked great, because it allowed the pc to come up with stuff on the fly with the control still in overall control of the mission.

Do you mean two people who are DM but not in the same session, or do you mean two people DMing at the same time.

I've had only experience with the last one (as co-DM and as player) and it worked quite well. We spend quite some time preparing, but it's lots of fun.

During the sessionyou have to divide the tasks ofcourse.

Our main group (the "high" level characters) are DM'd by only one person.

But our alternate group of characters (the "low" level ones) have been DM'd by two different people, and I may do some adventures for them.

Same group of players. If someone can't make it, we play the low level group. If everyone can be there, we play the main group.
