Morpheus and DnD

So what does everyone think of the fact that almost every DnD 3E item out there can be found in PDF format on file trading systems like Morpheus?

I know someone who uses it a lot and has just about every 3E item downloaded and burned onto CD.

To make it even worse he says that ELH and Demigods and Dieties are also out there though he has not been able to download them yet. Sounds to me like we have some less than honest WOTC people out there. Maybe a couple of them really did deserve those pink slips last week.

Wow...ELH and D&D are out on Morpheus? That's incredible. I can't imagine that a copy would have leaked like that already. I don't use Morpheus anymore (since the switch in versions), but I'll see what I can find on WinMX and report. This is an interesting...and potentially distressing...development. :(

*sheepish look*

I also know of people who download it. I also know of a person who scanned every page of the players handbook, into jpg files.

I wouldn't fret too much. Morpheus isn't any good anymore since it switched to gnutella network.

And i wouldn't be suprised if the ELH and d&d are actually fake. Quite often people are evil, and name the files that so other people download them.

*remembers the time he waited 2 hrs to download two towers trailor, just to realise it was named that, and it was just a man walking out of a bar. I was most miffed.

But seriously, your never gonna get rid of the downloading of books, becuase people are always gonna scan it. And I doubt very muchly that people in wotc are leaking it out.

All the Books ? Are you sure ? Cant find a good complete Copy of the Forgotten Realms thou... :)

Yep I downloaded basically everything. I did buy most of the books thou... and will buy Oriental even thou I have it in pdf. I wont buy Song and Silence thou because I saw the eletronic version.

Its good to "review" books before and bad for the copyright thing. The good part is that bad products will flunk even worse than before as people can check them out more completely. Master of the Wild is great... I got it online pretty fast too... and will probably buy it soon. WOTC wont lose...

So go on and admit you have downloaded them and quit acting as if you havent. I will burn a CD eventually... better than carrying all those books sometimes. Especially for non gaming things like going to work, etc...

PS dont depend on playtester versions... they come all wrong.

Um... I can honestly say I don't download them.

Belive it or not, there are people who dont pirate like its 1689 out there...

That's usually what I do too... I d/l the book once it is available in elctronoc format before receiving it. Don't get me wrong, all the books from WotC until August are already pre-ordered from Amazon. Unfortunately, as the books seems to be released a bit later on Amazon than in stores in the US, I usually receive them about 3-4 weeks after everyone else in the US receives it (since there's a 2 week shipping time to Europe). That's what I usually do with computer games too. When I can't wait to play a game, I find it on a warez site, play it this way, and once I receive the CD, I play it normally...

It's funny though that you won't buy S&S, that's my favourite class book (ok, I may be biased since I always play rogues & wizards but thought that T&B sucks!)
