[Mor's End Discussion] Administration

Round 1 Judging will be March 28/29. That's the toughest one since we there are 8 contestants and therefore 4 contests to judge...

April 1/2 is the judging for round 2. It's a little easier since there are 4 contestants and therefore only 2 contests to judge.

Round 3 is April 5/6... and it will consist of 1 contest for the grand prize.

So to recap...
Round 1 = Mar 28/29
Round 2 = Apr 1/2
Round 3 = Apr 5/6

Is that a viable timeline for you, Krug?

I'll give it a whirl. I might not be able to do a detailed breakdown as in Iron DM though. Let me know the points breakdown.

Thanks Krug... anyone else care to volunteer as a judge?

Here is the points breakdown...

*1 points per ingredient used other than the Main Phrase
*1 to 5 points if the Main Phrase is evident throughout the Background or Plot Hook
*0 to 2 points subjective for the judge

Perfect Score would be 10.

Let me know if this sounds fair...

Ok... I'll only need to allocate points for the subjective phase right? Sam can you take care of the points for the other parts?

Also, lets not risk losing momentum and go ahead with the contest with just two judges if no one else comes forth.

That's cool with me Krug... Just the two of us as judges...

I'll allocate points for the ingredients... including the 1 to 5 for the Main Ingredient...

You can just allocate the 0 to 2 points that are subjective.

Can't wait to see the entries... :)

slavery?

Question: Are we going to have slavery legal or illegal in this city? I have a business to submit if it is legal.

I will submitt it should exist. It gives us additional foes to fight and was routinely legal during the times we are copying.

Hmmm... The city is a trade hub... and slavery is a form of trade.

Slavery would change a lot of things in the city. Would there even be a Squats, if there was slavery? Just a thought...

What if slavery is illegal in the city, but the slavers have agreements from the humanoids to the south that allows them to pass through the area with impunity...

There might actually be slavers that operate in the city... but keep their operations hidden.

Just throwing stuff up to see if anything sticks...

Slavery is just part of life in the swamp but I don't know if you would want it in the city. Slavers would end up using the caravan routes for sure as it is a major route but whether the buying and selling of slaves in the city would be legal is another thing.

It's highly campaign specific. Can it be made modular? It should NOT be a major part of the city's trade. It might even be a black market operation.

Re: slavery

I would suggest it's illigeal - inside the city! However, slave caravans will occasionally pass through the area. They'll have to circle the city outside the walls, but they may very well have a person on the inside to resupply them. They could even have a semi-permanent camp outside the wall (either on the North side, or at Tradegate, depending on which way they circle the city).

Would that suffice?
