Most awesomest home theater setup... evar!

$250 mil estimated jackpot in the Michigan lottery at the moment...

Already got my $10 of tickets. Even then I wouldn't have anything looking like that... My dream set up would be much more in the sofas and couches to lounge about on rather than the gaudy movie palace style. Maybe some subtle design cues that remind one of classic movie palaces, but nothing so tacky as this guy.

I sure do wish I knew what it was like to have so much freaking money I don't know what to do with it all. :heh:

I'm going to go buy a lottery ticket and top this guy (I have to win of course).

And here I thought you were going to pull a McGyver and build the theater out of a lottery ticket .

Now you're talking! My dream "theatre" soft surfaces would be composed of several comfortable couches and recliners, extremely comfortable (but stain resistant) carpet*, and maybe a nice "bean bag" chair (such as those made by Love Sac).

I'd probably partition the area off so I could game in the same room without having the TV or AV equipment disrupting my players. It'd be nice if there was room for a pool table, wet-bar, and mini-fridge.

I'd say that figure is way low. The gear in the rack alone is probably $30k. Add in the projector, a good screen from Stewart, and speakers, and I wouldn't be suprised if the gear budget alone is well over $50k. Heck, I spent $16k on my gear and it's nowhere near that level. Well below half the price.

I'll confess, though, that the images never show the speakers. Who knows, he might have $300 a pair in walls just wallpapered over! I doubt it, though. While the focus in the instal seems to be on the asthetics rather than the sound or picture, it still looks like solid mid-level gear. I'm sure there are speakers to match.

The style is awful, IMO. Way over-the-top.

You're probably right. I'm probably not the right person to judge since my only experience to this type of AV Setup is watching HomeTime. Even your "modest" $16000 AV gear is more than I make yearly.

I'll go hide in my little (modest) hole now. :(

I didn't use to have an expensive hobby until I started buying AV gear. Think $100 is expensive for a RPG product? Pfft! Some cables cost more than that...

Cheers,
Liam

P.S. all in all, I still get more enjoyment from roleplaying with <$100 worth of books than I do watching DVDs on >$10000 worth of AV gear. Roleplaying is a bargain hobby!
