Most gamer friendly hotel in Indy during Gen Con?

Embassy was very friendly. they even asked me politely not to use certain language at 3am or so in the morning. nice free booze. and a nice greasy breakfast.

the elevators suck. and finding it with a car ain't easy either. also the parking garage is very, very, very tight. small vehicles get around better.

the Hilton was okay. but no freebies.

the Omni is close to the convention and good rooms. but again nothing great or memorable about it.

The Hyatt has wonderful service. but pricey.

One nice thing about the hilton was they had a very large gaming room with many tables set up in the 'basement' near the office center and gym. But I don't think many were using it for gaming, they didn't advertise having that open very well.

I stayed at the Embassy Suites and echo everything already said about it...

The suite was great for the Wed. PM Canadiana party, Rel's Thursday night Sky Galleons game and my Friday AM Grim Tales/Mythic Heroes game.

The big breakfast was nice...I managed to hit it about every morning and didn't really have a need to eat lunch, which helped keep food costs down. They definitely lost money on me with the evening manager's reception. Free booze...even if bottom shelf free booze...is pretty nice.

The atrium area was always very active with all manner of pick-up games, yet it never seemed too crowded.

The elevators did suck, badly.

That said...I really liked the Hyatt set-up, with nice large tables on both the lower level and balcony. Lots of food places within jumping distance and a good place to "see" other ENWorlders wandering through.

Yeah, I didn't know about it til I went down to make some print outs... And there it was! About 8 tables, each with 8-10 chairs around it.

Actually, the spa was on the main floor.

I did see the tables, but had no idea what they were for. I did, however, fully intend to horn in on them if my Journey for a game table took me that far. But the Hyatt accomodated.

Stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, located almost right next to the huge war monument/monolith. Very cool btw, if you didn't see it.

Hotel was good. Walk was manageable. Rain was a problem though. Free coffee every morning and for someone like me who is used to Dunkin Donuts (None in Indy apparently) that was a nice perk. We had a two room suite. Plenty of room, AC worked well. Plenty of food (bbq, pizza+, Quiznos, chocolate, etc) nearby, CVS nearby, Borders nearby

Not bad over all. Pretty happy with it.

Ditto. Been to Gen Con every year and was surprisingly pleased with the Hilton.

Given that we lost our shaving cream and shampoo, the nearby CVS was important. There's also a liquor store around the corner, for those of you who are interested in such things and don't feel like blowing a lot of money at the bars.

The BBQ place has delicious food, and I'm not a big fan of BBQ.

I stayed at the Hilton as well and had no idea they had gaming space available. I did hit the pool once as well, but had little time for anything else. Hell, I couldve seen you cats and would've never known it. Next time I go, I'm going to network a little better. As it was, I was travelling with four other guys so we kinda just travelled in a pack.

Embassy Suites was great, except for the elevators (not too bad trying to leave from the 16th floor, though--not that many floors above to fill it up on the way down to 16).

This year, the E.S. filled its block of rooms on the first day of registration, so reg. ASAP if you want to room there.

Oh, did the E.S. lose Dextra/Hellhound's room? They were supposed to stay there, but ended up at some other hotel, IIRC.

I stayed @ the Hilton, and I had no problems, in fact the room was clean and the bed were comfy.

I didn't see the gaming tables, those guys should really advertise that.
