Mounts for "Large" Paladins

Where (if anywhere) would we find rules for a Paladin Special Mount for a "Large' Paladin? We have a minotaur Paladin in our game (each of us plays a +2 LA race/template). We've just made 4th level tonight, so we're working on 5th.

When he hits 5th he can call his Special Mount, however...we can't find the rules for that. Is it covered anywhere?

1. Did the group drop racial HD? minotaurs have 6 HD before class levels normally.

2. Other mount options are listed in the PHB or DMG somewhere, but I don't remember if any are huge. The character has to wait a good while if they want anything stronger than a warhorse; so even if there is a huge option, it will be a LOOONG time before the critter is an option.

Dragon351 (page70) has some options for alternative paladin mounts.

However, it seems you need to be at least 10th lv for the huge dinosaurs (allosaurus / anklosaurus) or 12th lv (mastodon, triceratops or t-rex) before you can summon a huge mount.

The numbers seem quite off though, considering that a druid gets a t-rex as an animal companion only at lv16.

The easy vanilla solution is to allow the minotaur to summon a Huge version of a heavy warhorse with adjusted stats for the new size.

An elephant mount is correctly sized as is for the PC:

This entry describes an African elephant. Indian elephants are slightly smaller and weaker (Strength 28), but more readily trained (Wisdom 15). These statistics can also represent prehistoric creatures such as mammoths and mastodons.

A Triceratops (scroll down) would seem a good fit stylistically, though it is clearly much tougher than a heavy warhorse. ;)

At first I thought this was a thread about "Plus-sized" Paladins...;)
The paladin’s mount is superior to a normal mount of its kind and has special powers, as described below. The standard mount for a Medium paladin is a heavy warhorse, and the standard mount for a Small paladin is a warpony. Another kind of mount, such as a riding dog (for a halfling paladin) or a Large shark (for a paladin in an aquatic campaign) may be allowed as well.

A paladin’s mount is treated as a magical beast, not an animal, for the purpose of all effects that depend on its type (though it retains an animal’s HD, base attack bonus, saves, skill points, and feats).
I like the oversized Warhorse idea, and the Elephant as well.

To that list, I'd add the Rhino.

Depending upon the flavor of the campaign, you could even have templated versions of the animals as well- Legendary, Celestial, Dire...whatever.

And, lets face it, if you scour the various MMs and similar books, you'll find a lot of animals & magical beasts that should be appropriate.

In the alternative...

You could have your Paladin have 2 normal sized mounts that draw a chariot.

DMG has some details under Mounts section for a Paladin who wants an unsual mount (which a huge sized Pally would want as they can't fit the usual ones).
