Move a monster into another

For those that partecipated at DDXP, with all the powers even 1st level characters (and mosters) have that move a monster around, it ever happened that a PC, or monster, moved another into an already occupied square? What is the official rule for what happen in that situation? It can't happen? take damage? chain reaction? other?

Thank you.

Hmm... Dunno if that happened but could add some more strategy, and would work really well in making something thematically neat when say a Defender barrels through a group of guys sending one attacker through 2 squares each occupied by a fellow attacker, they then have to roll to see if they fall.

Hmm... Perhaps your Attack Roll (same type you used in that power) vs. Acrobatic or Atheltics?

Something like this? Take note that it is not official, it's my own creation entirely.

Tremendous Heave
Fighter Attack 1
Daily • Martial, Weapon
Standard Action Melee weapon
Primary Target: One creature of your size, smaller than you, or one size category larger.
Attack: Strength vs. Reflex
Hit: [W] + Strength modifier damage, and you may push the target 3 squares. If the target enters another creatures square make a secondary attack.
Secondary Target: The creature whose square the primary target entered.
Secondary Attack: Strength vs. AC
Hit: 2d6 + Strength modifier damage, and push the target 1 square.
Miss: Push the target 1 square.
Miss: Half damage, and push the target 1 square. No secondary attack.

Cheers.

DM at our table said it had no effect.

No effect in the sense that it don't happen (i.e they don't move/stop moving)?

Maybe it better with an example.

Let's say a rogue use postioning strike on a monster and slide it back 4 squares, but in the square where it should stop there is already someone. What happen? the monster stop in the square before?

That will probably be something I will houserule then, if there are no variant/optional rules in the PHB/DMG for this. Since I think it would add another spice to where you want to send the enemy sliding.

Be careful that your houserule doesn't overpower 'push 1' type powers, which are pretty freely thrown around... or end up complex enough it just drags on the game.

But, sure, if you want to have a
'If the target is pushed, pulled, or slid into another creature and has enough movement left to put the target in the square past the creature and the target is not smaller than the creature...'

Then whatever it is you're doing. Knocking folks prone is a significant power up, so maybe just bumping?
