Movement, Drinking Potion, Attack of Opportunity

According to the rules (3.0)
A) If all you do is move directly away from your opponent, and your only action for the round is to move, then you do not induce an attack of opportunity.

B) I all you take is a single 5-foot step, you do not take an attack of opportunity.

C) If you drink a potion, it is a standard action that induces an attack of opportunity.

My question is this: Which of these situations induce an attack of opportunity?
1. If you move directly away from your opponent your full base move, and then drink a potion. (ie. does C negate A)

2. If you move directly away from your oppenent with only a 5-foot step, then drink a potion. (ie. does C negate B)

I think that the rules are fairly clear that #1 would induce an attack of opportunity, But I'm a little foggy on #2.

I'm wondering how others run this situation in their campaigns?

1 causes an AoO when you leave the threatened area, as you will be doing something else than moving during the round. 2 does not provoke an AoO.
