I think I would have got it without the John Woo reference, but maybe not. In any case, this is from Hard Boiled another Woo/Chow pairing that was super-cool and ultra-violent. For many years after its release, Hard Boiled had the highest onscreen bodycount, though I don't know if that's still true.
