Something tells me that it is not generational. I think it is probably just part of our culture, but this is just an opinion.
Your comment about immigration makes me think of Bush's latest attitude: Immigrants must adopt American values! What an idiot this guy is. Here we are, a nation of such diversity, a country that is constantly changing with the infux of other cultures and he has the lack of vision to say, "Immigrants must adopt our values..."
He is an absurd embarrassment to this country on so many levels!
