Moving from D&D 3.0 to 3.5, what should I know?

Can I just reiterate...I hate 3.5. All the spell changes alone make me hate it. So many staple spells of old..gimped.

...Sorry, I won't get started...

You're not alone. Far from it. Single worst edition to date. Clunky and uninspired sum it up quite nicely.

I consider 3.5 D&D to be the best D&D yet. With one exception, I find every change to have improved the game. I find that in actual practice, all of the changes work just fine despite the large amount of handwringing prior to its release.

I have to ask - even the change to the Sleep spell? ;)

Speaking as someone who plays a gnomish sorceror who's built around the use of the sleep spell under 3.5 (at least through our Barakus game, where it has acquired the term, the "s-bomb" and has become so effective that three groups of opponents have factored it into their tactics)...yes, I think the Sleep spell is just spiffy.
