Is it possible to make a high-spot, high-listen, well-nigh unsurprisable PC by 10th level or so?

I'm thinking maxxed spot/listen, maxxed spot/listen magic item boosters.

blindsight, tremorsense, somehow... get these...

A Horizon Walker can gain the tremorsense ability.

Be a druid.

Spot and Listen as class skills.

Naturally high wisdom.

Access to forms that grant a racial bonus to those skills.

Spells that augment those skills, or grant new senses such as Tremorsense, Scent, or Blindsense.

Some Thoughts: There is a BO9S stance that gives scent.
I think there is an Earth Sense feat that gives tremorsence,
I would definately add a "Detect Magic at will" ability. Either permenented Arcane sight, Vexing Gaze feat, or I think there is a Totemist ability.

I think most builds would probably involve Incarnum classes, they really seem to have alot of abilities like that.

Well, 10th level scout would start with blindsense 5 ft, which is nice, and of course they have Listen and Spot as skills.

It's a 30ft radius, not 5ft.
5ft blindsense is, I think, a feat following blindfight from Deities and Demigods or Epic Level Handbook. Not sure which, but I know it's in the SRD.

Divine Oracle (CD) is immune to surprise at 10th level (would be 15th level character minimum).

Quick Reconnoiter feat (CAdv) gives a listen and spot check as a free action each round.

blindfold of true darkness is a cheap way 9k

thier is a mask that gives true sight but thats 100k

their is a falcon cloak that gives 10 spot turns you into a falcon for 1h a day 10k

wisdom helps alot

might what to take Shadow creature temp from tome of magic

or lvls of warloc to get see the unseen and void sence they can even get scent

feats: skill focus, quick rec., item familar thier are more but you can find them

Touchsight is very nice. That said, I don't think it works on incorporeal/ethereal beings.

I'm currently playing a Psion (seer) with +12 to spot checks at level 1 (and the psicrystal can make it's own check at +6). Continuing with the theme, I plan to adquire somewhere along the road Synesthete, Touchsight, Clairvoyant sense, Sensitivity to psychic impressions, Psionic divination and Psionic True seeing. He'll have a stupidly high Spot check and will be able to see with his eyes closed, will be able to see into the past, future, everywhere and invisible and ethereal things. I think that counts.
